We have some doubts about the
quality medical assistance that he received. As well his mother had
to endure more than forty hours of contractions, they also used
Thierry spatulas and gave her a wrong epidural: she could not get out
of bed for 6 days, and the consequence of this was mixed breast
feeding
Davide was admitted to the
same hospital on the afternoon of Friday 15th February 2008. His
first diagnosis was ‘bronquiolitis’ (bronchitis), the analyses and
the cultures were always negative. On Monday morning he was admitted
to the Intensive Care Unit and was already in a critical state,
after a weekend spent in the pediatric department in a tiny little
room shared with another baby with some other virus. On Wednesday
morning they put him in an artificial respirator and then they
switch it for another one with a larger frequency plus nitric gas.
That afternoon they put him an hemodialysis.
With thousand of questions and
with no answers we see how our baby in less then 6 days developed
serious conditions and from a simple cough he died, inside one of
the “best” public hospital in a “developed” country in the XXI sec.
Now we just feel empty and we
can not fill this gap … we will have always in our mind and heart
the intensive glance of Davide that was asking us for help…
